Each submission is reviewed against five foundational criteria used across all Nova categories—adapted for Technology & Design:

    Does the solution solve a real problem with measurable effect? Submissions should demonstrate meaningful enhancements in usability, productivity, sustainability, or system performance—whether in enterprise, public, or consumer contexts.
  • Originality & Innovation
    We recognize design and tech that move beyond convention. Whether it’s a new interface paradigm, a leap in user experience, or a novel integration of emerging technologies—ideas that feel inevitable in hindsight often start here.
  • Reputational Merit
    Peer recognition matters. We look at the reputation and influence of the individuals or teams behind the work: endorsements, prior achievements, or the adoption of their approach as a new standard across sectors.
  • Scalability & Applicability
    Can the solution travel? A strong entry will show potential for adaptation across use cases, industries, or geographies—extending its value beyond the initial build environment or audience.
