Each submission is reviewed against five foundational criteria used across all Nova categories - adapted for cybersecurity:

    Evidence of tangible contribution—whether through disruptive prototypes, breakthrough research, or early traction with users or investors. Entries should show momentum that signals long-term significance, not short-term noise.
  • Originality & Innovation
    Novel concepts, daring executions, or unique intellectual frameworks. This includes bold reinterpretations of old systems, entirely new product categories, or experimental thinking that redefines feasibility.
  • Reputational Merit
    Indicators of rising influence: peer acknowledgment, early press coverage, academic or startup community recognition, or traction within relevant ecosystems. Reputation, here, is not volume—it’s velocity.
  • Scalability & Applicability
    Potential to evolve or adapt. Judges assess whether the idea can scale technically, geographically, or socially—and whether its design encourages transferability across contexts or industries.
  • Sectoral Relevance
    How well the submission speaks to the moment—and what it says about the future. This may include addressing generational shifts, systemic gaps, or overlooked communities through purpose-driven design or impact.
